Profile of the Expert
Mr. Adel A. Soliman joined the Egyptian Environmental Affairs Agency (EEAA) as a Biodiversity Information Specialist in August 1996, then promoted as a Biodiversity Information Manager in 2000. He worked closely with the Director of Nature Conservation Sector (NCS) in many aspects. His work includes managing and developing socio-economic evaluation, cost-benefit studies and implementing community management programs. He was involved in many environmental projects funded by international agencies e.g. (GEF) - (UNDP) - (UNEP) - (EU). He was assigned as a coordinator assistant for the Biosafety Project, Egypt since 2005. He joined the Medicinal Plants Conservation project as a Project Manager in 2010. He served as project manager for a large scale UNDP project for "Strengthening Protected Areas Financing and Management Systems" in 2013. He got a MSc degree in Environmental Science (Biodiversity Conservation) in 2014, and He is currently enrolled in PhD degree in (Environmental and Social Responsibility) at Ain Shams University. His professional experience includes environmental management, socio-economic assessment, economic valuation, monitoring & evaluation, biodiversity conservation, environmental communication, (CBNRM), and TK preservation. He was nominated as a national focal point for (CEPA) in Ramsar Convention. He acted as a coordinator on several national committees (e.g. Biosafety, ABS, Medicinal Plant).
